Kitty Zhang first came to national, and possibly international attention, when she appeared in Stephen Chow’s (周星驰) CJ7, 2007, as the impossibly sweet teacher Ms Yuen. She has since appeared in a number of Chow productions, earning her the moniker “xin nu lang” （星女郎), or “Chow star girl.”

She primarily works in Hong Kong and had a narrow escape from the jaws of scandal when her planned collaboration with Edison Chen (陈冠希) on Tang Lu Jump. Her planned lead disappeared from public view after his photo scandal.
