ONE CHILD LESS IN CHINA :(
A woman in Ankang, Shaanxi province, was illegally taken into custody by government officials to abort her 7-month-old fetus against her will.
The report has triggered anger and criticism across China.
This is the second pregnancy for Feng Jianmei (冯建梅), but as her family was unable to pay the fine of 40,000 yuan ($6,300) for breaking the one-child policy, she was inhumanely treated by local government officers.
At 3 am on June 4, 36 hours after Jianmei was compelled to accept a labor inducing injection, the dead fetus was taken out of her abdomen. The 7-month fetus was almost fully developed.
A week later, photos of Jianmei and her dead fetus were uploaded onto the Internet, causing a controversy.
Jianmei was extremely unstable emotionally after the abortion and broke the glass window of the hospital.
Her husband furiously said, “They grabbed her hand, forcing her to sign the abortion agreement.”
When Jianmei was taken away by the officials, she was alone without her family members by the side.
SO SAD …
