Li Yanhua (李彦华), alias “Yanhua Meimei” or “Fireworks Sister” (烟花妹妹), first attracted the public’s attention in 2006 when she posted sexy photos of herself on her blog.

Her blog quickly surpassed 1million visitors within 20 days and then shot to over 10 million within a year.

She is one of China’s most popular bloggers and has been called the “Internet’s Sexiest Sports Writer.”

She is also a controversial figure as the language used in her articles is sometimes vulgar and she always directly challenges netizens who criticize her.

In January 2012, she took it one step further by posting a naked photo of herself, saying Jocelin Liu (刘冬), hailed as the internet search provider Baidu‘s most beautiful employee, could not compare with her, naked and without any makeup.

Then in February 2012, some obscene photos of Fireworks Sister were widely circulated on the internet.

She totally admitted the photos were of her! Way to go “Fireworks Girl.”
