Makiyo boycott program begins with TV
Netizens are calling for a boycott of the popular variety show KangXi Lai Le (Here Comes KangXi, 康熙來了) after Makiyo’s taxi driver assault case.
Makiyo is a good friend of the show’s co-host Dee Hsu (徐熙娣).
The singer-actress often appears on the show to talk about her drunken stories.
Malaysian singer Eric Woo (巫啟賢) criticized the show for airing what he called “meaningless content.”
“We hope, at the same time as the hosts make loads of money, they don’t forget they have social and moral obligations. Don’t forget that your kids are watching TV too.”
Lol don’t all most reality tv shows or talk shows have NO educations value? You can’t judge a majority based on a minority. Just because KangXi Lai Le has no moral values, doesn’t mean all Taiwan shows are shitty. Just like how Jersy Shore is full of parties and bitch fights, I’m not going to assume all American shows are full of such meaningless contents.
Agreed (to the top to posts)! However, I have to say I do watch Kang Xi Lai Le quite frequently, but then again I do not live in Taiwan and I take everything they say and do with a grain of salt. The TV stations are right, Kang Xi Lai le is a household name and kids should not be watching these shows. The content on the show is amateur and purely for entertainment purposes . They totally should have realized this before the whole Makiyo incident blew up. Nonetheless, the show should totally re-evaluate what they are broadcasting.
In general, Taiwanese TV programs and Movies are shitty. Only concentrating on kissing and bed scenes.
Their talk shows focus mainly on beauty, courting, boobs size and related topics.
