More iPhone 4S madness
A man in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, spent 6,000 yuan ($950) on a new iPhone 4S last week but was angered when he found that it stored 1,343 phone numbers.
The man, surnamed Yan (严), suspected the phone he bought after queuing for two hours outside a China Unicom outlet was not an original — the phone numbers confirmed his fears.
He filed a complaint with the outlet.
After confirming with the employees who worked that day, Yan was told the technicians, while updating software for the phones, had mistakenly uploaded phone numbers from the outlet’s desktop to the phone.
Reporters checked the desktop and found it did indeed have the same 1,343 phone numbers as on the iPhone.
China Unicom agreed to exchange the phone and offered Yan an apology.
