Model Vivian Dawson (錦榮) slipped up when he admitted he “can’t” marry pop diva Jolin Tsai (蔡依林).

Sensing his honest answer was inappropriate, the 25-year-old quickly changed his tone, saying, “Have no answer.”

The two have been dating passionately for 16 months, but Vivian is not accepted by Jolin’s parents, who have tried to arrange “second generation rich” (富二代) dates for her instead.

Vivian said they are happy together now and their “feelings” are most important.

The huge income gap between the two might be one of his major worries.

Jolin has sucked in NT$624 million ($20.7 million) this year from commercial performances, endorsements and concerts — even though she did not release a new album.

Vivian is expected to pull in NT$2 million for his modeling gigs.
