Comedian Xiao Shenyang (小沈阳) is said to have secretly divorced wife Shen Chunyang (沈春阳) after his mistress repeatedly begged him to give Shen the chop.

His girlfriend was pregnant, but decided to have an abortion.

Shenyang’s boss, the comic master Zhao Benshan (赵本山) was so furious that he slapped his student around the face.

Benshan also slapped a ban on news getting out about the divorce for fear the company he heads would lose advertising revenue.

Reports said the 30-year-old Shenyang has been dating one of his fans for several years and he asked for a divorce on several occasions.

The couple has a daughter, around six years old.

Shenyang’s company and his wife have flatly denied the rumors.
