Rabbit ear grafts have become the latest must-have accessory for hip celebrities and their student followers in China’s mainland.

The model Mavis Pan (潘霜霜), aka Pan Shuangshuang, has come out of self-imposed exile, following her photos-in-bed scandal with Raymond Lam (林峰), sporting a pair of rabbit ears in a new set of jpgs (pictured above).

Other stars sporting Playboy Bunny ears are the media mavens Zhang Yuqi (张雨绮) and Sister Phoenix (凤姐), aka Luo Yufeng (罗玉凤).

The bunny ear grafts are semi-permanent, fixed with a superglue that weakens after three or four washes.

Real rabbit ears, Playboy versions, plastic and even day-glo rabbit ears are being sported by young Chinese women in the major Chinese cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

Rabbit ear grafts were originally offered by plastic surgeons in Shenzhen, but a new market has sprung up on the country’s major online seller, Taobao, that sells DIY kit versions (pictured above).

Doctors have warned that supergluing rabbit ears can be dangerous and caution against children doing it.
