Selina’s white knight Richard rides to rescue
The settlement payment Selina Jen (任家萱) is about to receive for her serious burn-related injuries is not as high as publicly estimated and her lawyer fiancé reportedly plans to raise objections, according to Taipei-based China Times (中國時報).
Selina earned around NT$120 million (US$4 million) in 2009, but the settlement payment from the production company of the TV series I Have A Date with Spring (我和春天有个约会) is less than NT$100 million.
Her fiancé Richard Chang (張承中) previously said about the settlement that, “It’s neither my decision nor my opinion.”
Richard was present when Selina, her father and Linda Ho (何燕玲), general manager of the singer-actress’ record label HIM Inc (華研國際音樂), signed the settlement agreement with the production company on January 31.
But he did not agree with the content as he opined the responsibility issue was not clearly sorted out, the production company owes an apology and the compensation payment is not sufficient.
Richard’s friends revealed that he is thoroughly going through the content and will raise objections.
