Taiwan model Jessey Meng (孟廣美) will get engaged to the handsome-challenged Ji Zenghe (吉增和), chairman of Beijing’s high-end shopping mall, The Place (世贸天阶), next month.

A real estate developer, Zenghe is estimated to have assets worth 1 billion yuan (around US$147 million).

The pair has dated for 10 months and Jessey said she is happy to be the mom of her future hubby’s child, from his previous marriage.

This is great news for the 43-year-old model, whose Italian ex Corrado Riccio swindled 40 million euros (US$51 million) from her and 29 other investors in 2008.

Jessey lost all her savings.

“He [Zenghe] is grateful to the guy who cheated me. Were it not for that guy, we would not have been together,” Jessey said.

She said although they only started dating 10 months ago, they feel they have known each other for 10 years.

Zenghe proposed to her even before they held hands, she said.

“I know for outsiders, it’s just another rich businessman with a female artiste … but they would never understand.”
