It takes just four steps to transform the beauty-challenged Sister Phoenix (凤姐) into a famous sporting sweetheart.
It’s surprising, if you want to forget the power of PS, how much she resembles them.
Her “impressions” include diving queen Guo Jingjing (郭晶晶), former female Chinese basketball player Sui Feifei (隋菲菲), Paraguayan “goddess of boobs” Larissa Riquelme, Korean golf star Michelle Wie, Chinese gymnast-turned-actress Liu Xuan (刘璇), Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova and Korean figure skater Kim Yu-na.
Phoenix is currently fighting off a TV ban by the government, which claims she is not “harmonious.”
This does not refer to her lack of facial symmetry or the fact she was not touched by the beauty brush when born, but to her supposedly bad influence.
In July a State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) spokesman singled out Phoenix for her “vulgarity” and said TV programs featuring her would be forced off the air.
Phoenix, who is only famous because she thinks so highly of herself, sees herself as a highbrow type of celebrity.
