Wang channels a student in new film

Wang Lee-hom (王力宏) has responded to claims that he was all over a married woman at a Shanghai nightspot last month to celebrate wrapping up his new film Love Announcement (恋爱通告).

According to Sina.com the singer was cuddling up to the unnamed lovely at 6am in the morning.

But at a press conference in Taipei yesterday the 34-year-old singer was asked about the affair and said, words to the effect: “I don’t read reports like that, they’re just too funny.”

Then a minder cut in and the line of questioning was closed.

Wang’s manager, however, confirmed the woman concerned was a film editor and married.

Wang has spent US$7.1 million on the youth comedy, his directorial debut, in which he plays a pop star who pretends to be a student to get the girl of his dreams.

It also stars actresses Joan Chen (陈冲) and Liu Yifei (刘亦菲).

Wang has previously been romantically linked with singer A-mei (張惠妹) and Shu Qi (舒淇).
